Introduction
1.1 Appalachian State University (“Appalachian” or “the University”) encourages the use of innovative forms of technology such as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (“UAS”) to achieve the University’s goals, consistent with its mission, of effective education, research, communication, and operations. Appalachian is also committed to complying with laws and regulations applicable to this evolving technology and to the safety and privacy of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
