Policy 303.26
Introduction
1.1 Appalachian State University (“Appalachian” or “the University”) encourages the use of innovative forms of technology such as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (“UAS”) to achieve the University’s goals, consistent with its mission, of effective education, research, communication, and operations. Appalachian is also committed to complying with laws and regulations applicable to this evolving technology and to the safety and privacy of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This policy seeks to ensure the safe and lawful operation of UAS for the benefit of people and University property.
Scope
2.1 This policy applies to all members of the Appalachian State University community including faculty, staff, and students, as well as University authorized contractors or other third parties, whether on or off University property.
