Catering
The University Food Services Department offers a wide range of catering services to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff. These services range from coffee breaks, teas, receptions, picnics and served banquets.
Catering services can be obtained by calling 262-6143.
Sufficient lead time should be allowed for Food Services to prepare for special functions. Two days is the minimum for coffee, punch, donuts or cookies, etc. Two weeks should be allowed for a major banquet (70 - 400 guests). The following information will be needed by Food Services:
- Type of Service
- Number to be served
- Date and time service will be needed
- Place
- Menu - if applicable*
- Other supplies needed
Set menus are available or menus can be customized to accommodate the requesting party.
At this time, arrangements for payment are indicated by either a budget code, cash or check. Proper authorization must be given from the Controller's Office for any charges against a budget code.
Chancellor's Dining Room - The Chancellor's Dining Room may be scheduled by members of the Appalachian Family. The user should contact the Catering Office x6143 for scheduling of the function on the calendar.
This room is not available as strictly meeting space and its use requires that a meal service function be included.
Bake Shop Services
Bake Shop - The bake shop features cakes, pies, cookies, sweet rolls, pastries and bread made daily. Birthday or other special occasion cakes may be ordered with only a 24-hour notice on most items. Some special occasion cakes require a 48-hour notice. Orders are taken 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays at 262-3061.
Bake shop items are picked up in the Food Court and paid for at that time or charged to a budget code.
Bake shop items to be charged to a budget code must be approved prior to pick up by the Director of Food Services Office (262-3062).
